Get ready for new content in the Zone and beyond! A recent teaser trailer for the upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Season 4 has excited fans by hinting at the potential return of two iconic weapons: the LC10 Submachine Gun and the FFAR Assault Rifle. Season 4 is anticipated to kick off towards the end of May 2025, promising a fresh Battle Pass loaded with new weapons, cosmetic items, and other exclusive unlocks for players to earn.
With the expected start date for Season 4 just around the corner, publisher Activision has officially begun building hype for the major content update. The initial cinematic teaser not only seemed to confirm the comeback of these two popular weapons but also suggested the return of a fan-favorite Call of Duty character previously thought to be gone. The short video features Adler enlisting the help of Vikhor “Stitch” Kuzmin, a character many believed had perished after the events of Black Ops Cold War. Bringing back characters after their apparent demise in a campaign is not unprecedented for the franchise; notable Modern Warfare figures like John “Soap” MacTavish and Phillip Graves have also made reappearances after being killed off in their respective main stories.
Fan-Favorite Weapons Return?
While the new outro cinematic concluding Call of Duty Season 3 heavily featured Stitch’s potential return, sharp-eyed viewers quickly spotted what appear to be the LC10 and FFAR weapons in the trailer. The LC10 previously only featured in Black Ops Cold War, quickly becoming a popular SMG. The FFAR, on the other hand, boasts a longer history within the series, having appeared in multiple iterations over the years, including its debut as the FAMAS in 2009’s Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 and later as the FFAR in titles such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, and more.
What Else Might Season 4 Bring?
Specific details about the upcoming season remain somewhat limited following the initial teaser. However, based on past seasonal updates, players can likely anticipate the addition of new Multiplayer maps, game modes, operator skins, and more content to explore. Developers Treyarch Studios and Raven Software traditionally also plan various in-game events throughout the duration of a new season. For instance, Season 3 featured two controversial weed-themed events that drew criticism from the community for their repetitive nature. Curiously, the “High Art” event was recently extended for an additional week for unknown reasons, giving players more time with its associated (and somewhat controversial) Event Pass.
Beyond new content, players are also holding out hope for a significant number of bug fixes in the upcoming update. Season 3 Reloaded, the mid-season update released earlier this month, faced backlash from the community due to a perceived increase in cheaters and technical issues within the game. Reports of strange bugs, like a player encountering a Zombie inside the Warzone Gulag, highlight the kinds of issues the community hopes to see addressed in the Patch 4 update. It remains unclear how some of these unusual bugs occurred, but fixing them is a priority for many players looking for a smoother experience.
